Happy Homes is Sweden's oldest paint retailer, with around 100 stores around the country. In 2017 they wanted to launch a paint brand of their own.
In my research I discovered that the overall market is rather excluding. It’s mainly aimed at professionals and the package designs were crammed with technical and difficult terms. As a non-professional it was very challenging to find instructions and information on how to go about.
My vision was therefor to create a design that felt simple, including and playful. If it’s easy to paint, it can also be fun!
The can is transparent so that you can see the color after it is mixed in the store.
Instead of the technical terms, the cans are made of different kinds of matte and shiny plastic that reflects the attribute of the paint.
Flink is meant to encourage all kinds of changes, both big and small, by providing inspiration and easy instructions.
